Application Procedures

Application Overview

There is only one admission exercise for each academic year. Successful applicants will matriculate in August next year.

Applicants in the final year of their undergraduate law studies may apply if they can fulfil the academic pre-requisites by 30 June in the year of matriculation. As long as academic transcripts are submitted at the point of application, we can make a provisional offer of admission that will be made firm upon the applicants obtaining the academic pre-requisites (and submitting the final transcript and degree certificate) by 30 June in the year of matriculation.

Unless granted approval by our University, no candidate may concurrently be a student for more than one degree or register as an NUS candidate and of another university/institute.

Inaccurate or false information or omission of material information or no application fee payment will render your application invalid. The University reserves the right to reject applications that are incomplete or inaccurate. Persons admitted on the basis of inaccurate or false information may be expelled.

How to Apply

Applications must be made online via NUS Graduate Admission System (GDA3). Please refer to the GDA3. The email address which you provide when creating your new GDA3 account will also be your login ID. You will also receive email notifications relating to your applications via this email address.

Please refer to this Supporting Document Checklist for the LLM and Graduate Diploma programmes, this Supporting Document Checklist for the JD programme, and this Supporting Document Checklist for the PhD programme. Applicants should upload the application materials to GDA3. Applications will not be considered if the required documents laid out in the checklist are not provided by the application deadline.

Please do not upload duplicate documents. For example, if grading table is uploaded under the official ranking/cumulative GPA/Grading system section, do not upload the same document under the transcript section.

We do not accept supporting documents submitted via email or via post, unless we specifically request for them.

Application materials submitted more than once in GDA3 will be reviewed based on the latest submission only. We will remove the earlier document without your prior consent.

Applicants may only apply for ONE LLM programme (with or without specialisation). If you submit more than one application, only the latest submission in the GDA3 will be considered.

Applicants who are from the Chinese Mainland (中国大陆) are required to submit to ECUPL the stated materials under Section 6 of ECUPL's website.

Please email lawgradadm@nus.edu.sg (LLM and Grad Dip), lawjdadm@nus.edu.sg (JD) and lawphdadm@nus.edu.sg (PhD) with proof of payment of application fee if your GDA application status is not showing ‘under initial review’ within five business days from the payment date.
