Mandy holds a PhD from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, LLM from University College London, Bachelor of Management and Bachelor of Laws degrees from Chongqing University.

Her thesis “Green Economy: Renewable Energy Support Measures and WTO Rules” analysed the interactions between green economy policies, mainly in the form of government support in the renewable energy sector, and WTO rules. Mandy advanced some significant legal policy recommendations to improve the WTO-compatibility of green economy measures, which are very timely in the current global trade climate.
