LAW ON EXPLOITATION AND USE OF NATURAL RESOURCES FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN VIETNAM
Abstract
The topic focuses on in-depth research, study, and assessment of the current legal status of the exploitation and use of natural resources in our country, focusing on 03 basic types of resources, including Land resources, water resources, and air resources, considered and approached from the perspective of sustainable development. The content of the topic includes: Decoding the concept and characteristics of natural resources; concepts and criteria of sustainable development. These are the basic concepts that form the foundation for assessing the current legal status of the exploitation and use of natural resources, including land resources, water resources, and air resources for production and life activities, in order to identify limitations and shortcomings in reference to the requirements of sustainable development. On that basis, the topic provides orientations and solutions to improve the law on the exploitation and use of these natural resources for the sustainable development of our country today.
Biography
Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Quang Tuyen is a distinguished legal expert in Vietnam, currently serving as the Vice Chairman of the University Council and the Dean of the Faculty of Economic Law at Hanoi Law University. His areas of specialization are Land Law and Environmental Law, fields in which he has established a prominent reputation. A senior expert in legal consultancy for land, real estate, and economic sectors, Assoc. Prof. Tuyen has made significant contributions to legal scholarship. He has authored numerous articles for specialized journals and has also served as the editor and author of many monographs in Vietnam. His research, particularly on land law reform, has been influential in shaping policy and legal discourse in the country. Assoc. Prof. Tuyen is also active in the international academic community. He has participated in numerous international conferences, including events hosted by the Asian Law Institute (ASLI). Notably, he was an ASLI Visiting Fellow in 2010, during which he published a working paper on "Land Law Reforms in Vietnam – Past & Present." His engagement with international forums underscores his commitment to fostering academic exchange and contributing to the broader legal scholarship in Asia.
