Title
Immerse with Engage VR in a Mythic Learning of Criminal Law
Abstract
The integration of immersive virtual reality (VR) in legal education represents a groundbreaking shift in pedagogical approaches, particularly in the realm of criminal law. This paper explores "Immerse with Engage VR," a cutting-edge VR program designed to enhance the learning experience for law students by situating them within mythic scenarios that reflect real-world criminal cases. Through interactive simulations, learners engage in complex legal dilemmas, courtroom procedures, and ethical considerations, fostering deeper comprehension of criminal law principles. Additionally, Engage VR fosters collaborative learning, enabling students to work together in virtual environments, regardless of geographic constraints. This innovative pedagogical tool not only increases engagement and motivation but also supports diverse learning styles and improves information retention. By placing students in the shoes of various stakeholders—such as victims, defendants, and legal practitioners, Engage VR cultivates empathy and a deeper understanding of the societal implications of criminal law. This study evaluates the efficacy of VR in promoting active learning, critical thinking, and retention of legal concepts. Preliminary findings suggest that students exhibit increased engagement, improved analytical skills, and greater empathy towards defendants and victims alike. By merging technology with mythic narratives, "Immerse with Engage VR" not only transforms traditional learning environments but also prepares future legal practitioners to navigate the intricacies of criminal law in an increasingly dynamic legal landscape. This paper advocates for the broader adoption of VR tools in legal education to cultivate a more immersive and impactful learning experience. Ultimately, it argues that the adoption of Engage VR in criminal law learning can lead to a more effective, engaging, and ethically informed generation of legal professionals.
