Title	A Comparative Study of Juvenile Justice Systems in China and India: From a Historical and Modern Perspective
Abstract	The path of juvenile justice in China and India varies in several ways. This paper investigates the emergence and development of juvenile justice systems in both nations, examining their respective history, institutions, and legal procedures. A prominent feature of Indian law is to conjoin child welfare and juvenile justice into one act. In China, however, no legally required institution of judicial welfare exists, thus, diverse regions have created their own path to deal with juvenile offenders. Consequently, China lacks any comprehensive system for handling youthful offenders. We provide an unprecedented comparison of the differences between the juvenile justice systems in the two most populated nations in the world
Biography	Yang xu , an associate professor at East China University of Political Science and Law, with a rigorous focus on the field of juvenile justice law and comparative law. My academic journey has been enriched by a year-long visiting scholarship in Italy, where I had the opportunity to immerse myself in the legal systems and cultural nuances of the country. During my tenure in Italy, I not only honed my research skills but also contributed significantly to academic discourse by translating nearly 10 academic works. These translations have been instrumental in bridging the gap between Italian and Chinese legal scholarship, fostering a deeper understanding of comparative legal studies. My expertise in juvenile justice law and comparative law is a testament to my commitment to advancing legal knowledge and promoting international legal cooperation. I am passionate about my work and look forward to furthering academic dialogue and research in these areas.
