Title	The Political Question Doctrine as a Model of Judicial Restraint in the Indonesian Constitutional Court
Abstract	Almost all issues are now decided by the Indonesian Constitutional Court, creating the impression that the judiciary has the authority to rule on every matter, even those more appropriately decided by a more representative legislative body. This study aims to explore the application of the political question doctrine as a model of judicial restraint to limit the role of the Constitutional Court in political issues. Based on the analysis of various cases, it is found that the Constitutional Court has often involved itself in political decision-making, which tends to create more problems than solutions. Through this study, it is hoped that principles of judicial restraint can be applied to ensure that the Constitutional Court does not act as a political actor in the form of juristocracy.
Biography	Dr. Qurrata Ayuni has been a faculty member in the Constitutional Law Department at the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia, since 2017. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Law from the Universitas Indonesia, followed by a Master of Conflict and Dispute Resolution from James Cook University, Australia. I earned My Ph.D. from the Faculty of Law, Universitas Indonesia, with a dissertation titled "The Concept of Emergency Constitutional Law According to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia: A Study on the Regulation and Application of Emergency Constitutional Law in Indonesia from 1945 to 2022." My research interests include the Constitutional Court, the State of Emergency, and Comparative Constitutional Law. I focus on the application of emergency constitutional law across different legal systems, both in Indonesia and internationally.
