Title	The Nascence of a Legal Professional Community and it's Role in China
Abstract	This article focuses on judges, legal scholars and lawyers to study the nascence of “legal professional community” and its role in building and defending an independent judiciary in China. Many problems exist in these legal professions, especially among lawyers and between lawyers and judges. There is often fierce competition and even sharp confrontation in their daily work. However, through the examination of several cases, it is argued that there has been a nascence of a ‘legal professional community’, along with the development of legal education and the awakening of Chinese legal consciousness. This community led by the esteemed legal scholars and progressive elite lawyers, shares knowledge, skills and values and has played a vital role in challenging external non-legal influences exerted on the judiciary.
Biography	Yanrong ZHAO, an associate professor in Civil, Commercial and Economic Law School of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL). She got her Ph.D in Civil Procedure Law at CUPL in 2012 and another Ph.D in International Political Science at New South Wales University (Canberra) in Australia in 2016. Her research interests include civil procedure law, evidence law, judicial system and politics.
