Academic Integrity in Indian Law Journals Publications: A Critical Examination
Abstract
Academic integrity in journal publication serves as the cornerstone for promoting fairness and objectivity within education, research, and publication. A conflict of Interest primary indicator of compromised academic integrity. It promotes unfairness or manipulation during the publication process, consequently undermining the quality of research publications. This article discusses conflicts of interest among editors, authors, reviewers, and publishers, particularly in the context of publishing in-house or parent journals and other journals. Furthermore, this article has examined the absence of clear definitions and the lack of legal repercussions for conflicts of interest in journal publication. The author has also conducted online empirical research regarding conflict of interest and its effects on the quality of law journals in India. Additionally, the article investigates potential solutions to mitigate conflicts of interest in the publication of law journals.
