Alberto López Tom Alberto obtained his law degree from the University of Panama (1998) and later on obtained a postgraduate degree in Business Management from the School of Industrial Engineering of the Technologic University of Panama (2000). Alberto also holds an LL.M. in International Commercial Law from the University of Nottingham, England (2002). In 1996 Alberto started as a paralegal and later became an associate attorney with the largest maritime litigation firm in Panama, De Castro & Robles. He became a partner in 2005. Alberto has also served on the Board of Directors of the Panama Maritime Law Association (2008-2010). He served as President in 2010-2011. His area of practice focuses on maritime litigation, with special emphasis on personal injuries, cargo claims, and accidents sustained by vessels while transiting the Panama Canal. Alberto is also involved in commercial and banking matters and disputes in the energy and aviation sector. Publications
