S Mohan Mr S Mohan is a senior litigator and was admitted to the Singapore bar in 1993. He has more than two decades of advocacy experience, appearing as lead counsel before all courts and arbitral tribunals in Singapore on a wide range of general and commercial disputes, with particular focus on all aspects of shipping/admiralty/transportation, insurance (marine and non-marine), energy and offshore, and international trade/commodities. On the wet shipping side, Mohan has advised and represented shipowners, charterers and P&I clubs in relation to numerous maritime casualties including groundings, collisions, shipboard fatalities and oil pollution incidents, and is regularly ranked as one of the leading maritime casualty lawyers in Singapore. Notable casualties handled by Mohan include the Evoikos and Orapin Global collision in 1997, which caused the largest oil spill in Singapore's history, the Ever Glory and Hual Trinita collision in 1998, the Bunga Kelana 3 and Waily collision in 2010, which also caused widespread oil pollution in Singapore, the Oceanus Leader and United Fortitude collision in 2014, and the Alyarmouk and Sinar Kapuas collision in 2015. Mohan was appointed as a Judicial Commissioner of the Supreme Court of Singapore from 3 January 2020. |
