Viktor WÉBER
Post-Doctoral Fellow

Dr Viktor Wéber joined the Centre for Maritime Law as a Post-doctoral Fellow in June 2017. Earlier he was a Senior Research Assistant and Research Fellow in the Institute of Maritime Law at Southampton University. He obtained his LLB (with European Legal Studies in Rouen, France), LLM (Maritime law), and PhD also from Southampton. During his graduate studies, Viktor held a DAAD Summer Law School Scholarship at the University of Freiburg. He completed his doctoral thesis as part of an interdisciplinary project under Professor Mikis Tsimplis on "Environmental Liability from Offshore Carbon Dioxide Sequestration in the European Union". Apart from these main duties, Viktor has been a tutor on LLB (Tort law) and LLM (Admiralty Law) courses at Southampton. He was a co-editor of the School's journal, the Southampton Student Law Review. Viktor's main interests are in commercial and also public maritime law.
