Course Description:
Laws and regulations must contend with increasingly complex and fast-moving advances in technology. This course equips law students with the basic technical knowledge necessary to appreciate the interface between technology and law in areas such as copyright, virtual assets, data protection and evidence. Through a series of simple basic Python coding exercises, students will also be exposed to elements of programming so that they will have a better appreciation of artificial intelligence and quantitative empirical legal analysis issues that are increasingly posing legal and ethical challenges for lawyers, regulators, and judges.
