Non-Law Courses
For Cohort AY2014/2015 and after:
4-Year LLB students are permitted to read any non-law courses offered by other faculties up to a maximum of 12 units; subject to the pre-requisite/criteria (if any) of the non-law course, and the conditions listed below. | |
Notes: | |
1. | Students are allowed to read up to 12 units of non-law courses without seeking approval from Vice Dean (Academic Affairs). Any units approved beyond that will be pro-rated to 12 units for calculation of Class of Honours. |
2. | Out of the 12 units, only one (1) may be a Level-1000 course (regardless whether the courses are graded or otherwise). Any additional Level-1000 non-law course will neither be counted towards fulfilling the units required to complete the LLB degree, nor will the grades and marks be used for the calculation of Class of Honors. Students will be required to make up their total number of units for the LLB degree in order for it to fall within a range of 160 -164. |
3. | Students are not allowed to read non-law courses for units in Special Term Part 1 & Part 2 without seeking the approval of the Vice Dean (Academic Affairs). Please forward your appeal to lawundergrad@nus.edu.sg. |
4. | Students taking non-law courses must ensure there are no clashes in the class and assessment schedule with their law courses. Students are advised to regularly check the websites of their respective non-law courses for any updates. |
5. |
Students who are interested in reading a non-law course for enrichment will have to write in to Vice-Dean (Academic Affairs) for approval. The grade will be reflected on the transcript but the course will neither be counted towards fulfilling the units required to complete the LLB degree, nor will the grades and marks be used for the calculation of Class of Honours. Students are expected to attend all the lectures/seminars/tutorials and to complete all assessments as required by the course. Please forward your appeal to lawundergrad@nus.edu.sg |
6. | More details on the non-law courses can be found on NUSMods or the host faculty/department websites. |
