The predecessor of Zhejiang University Guanghua Law School, Zhejiang University School of Law, was established in 1945. Professor Li Haopei, a well-known international law scholar, was then appointed as the first dean of Zhejiang University School of Law. During Professor Li’s term, the School of Law witnessed a boom in its academic development. Many foreign and well-known scholars, including Professor Roscoe Pound, the former dean of Harvard Law School and representative of the sociological school of law, came to impact knowledge at this school.
