Membership Benefits

This membership category is separate from the category of founding members. Membership fees, which will be payable annually, will be reviewed periodically.

Benefits for member institutions of ASLI include:

1. Your institutions will get online access to the Asian Journal of Comparative Law (AsJCL).
2. Full-time academic staff from your institution will be able to participate in the activities for ASLI members.
3. Full-time academic staff from your institution will have the right to apply, on a competitive basis, for an ASLI Fellowship (including housing and stipend) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Faculty of Law. The prospective ASLI Fellow must be nominated by your institution by sending to the ASLI Secretariat a completed prescribed application form along with a CV, including a list of publications along with a description of the research project he or she would like to undertake during the fellowship. Prospective candidates can contact the ASLI Secretariat at asli@nus.edu.sg for more details.
4. Full-time academic staff from your institution may also apply to the ASLI Secretariat to be an ASLI Visiting Scholar. ASLI Visiting Scholars may visit the ASLI Secretariat at the National University of Singapore, Faculty of Law, for up to one month for their research but at their own costs. ASLI will provide a work station cubicle and library access at NUS Law. We expect that this arrangement would be of use to full-time academic staff of ASLI member institutions who are conducting legal research on sabbatical leave, and who would like to interact with other Asian law scholars who might be visiting NUS Law at similar times.
5. Full-time academic staff at your institution will receive a SGD $100 discount on the registration fee for the annual ASLI conference.
