Department of Global and Asian Legal Policy Studies is a department consisting of Faculty of Policy Studies, Kansai University. Kansai University is one of huge universities in western Japan, and it has around 30,000 students including students of graduate schools. In this department, students are expected to understand contemporary international societies mainly through a legal perspective. The department offers opportunities to study diverse range of legal systems in the world. For example, as classes titled “Asian Society and Law” , department offers classes on Chinese law, Korean law, Thai law, Malay law, Cambodian law and Indian law. Not only state wise lectures, it offers classes on Comparative constitutional law, Law and Development or other legal classes focusing on Asian countries’ legal systems. With many full time and part time faculty members cover wide range of legal and political sciences for understanding Asian societies. Many of graduates get their jobs in private companies, however, some of graduates were passing exam for public sector.
