- CALS warmly welcomes our Visiting Researcher, Dr Eugénie Mérieau.
- Prof Ng-Loy Wee Loon's edited volume, "Geographical Indications at the Crossroads of Trade, Development, and Culture", has been published by Cambridge University Press. This book, edited by Wee Loon and Prof Irene Calboli from Singapore Management University, is available as Open Access.
- Prof Stanley Yeo and Assoc Prof Chan Wing Cheong from NUS Law, together with Prof Michael Hor from The Hong Kong University and Prof Neil Morgan from the University of Western Australia, made a field trip to Sri Lanka in June 2017 to study the state of the Sri Lankan Penal Code.

- Assoc Prof Chan Wing Cheong was invited as a guest speaker to the conference on "Legal Education in Asian Countries" held at the Faculty of Law, Fukuoka University on 5 February 2017, and the conference on "Best Interests of the Child - Parenting after Divorce" at the Graduate School of Law, Nagoya University from 6 to 7 February 2017.
- CALS Fellows-Dian Shah and Nyi Nyi Kyaw-participated in Harvard Law School's Institute for Global Law and Policy (IGLP) Asian Regional Workshop on 6 - 10 January 2017. The workshop was hosted by the Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ) in Bangkok.

- Prof Andrew Harding's new book, "Constitutionalism and Legal Change in Myanmar", has been published by Hart Publishing. The collection of essays is edited by Andrew and former CALS Visiting Fellow Daw Khin Khin Oo.
