Getting Around Getting to & from the Airport to Conference Hotels
Getting to and from Changi International Airport is easy, convenient and relatively inexpensive. You have a choice of several modes of transportation. TAXI The most convenient transportation from the Airport to the city is by taxi. Taxi services are convenient and reasonably priced in Singapore. On arrival, please follow the directional signs to the official taxi queue. The one way taxi fare from the airport to the recommended conference hotels should cost S$25 at most. For trips originating at the airport, there is a surcharge of S$3-S$5, and there is a surcharge of 50% of the metered fare between midnight and 0600hr. An additional surcharge of 35% of the metered fare is also applicable during peak hours (7.00am to 9.30am & 5.00pm to 8.00pm). Taxis are metered and fares start from S$3.20, depending on the type of taxis boarded. A list of possible additional surcharges can be found posted in all taxis. Tipping is not expected. Most taxi drivers speak English. The taxi journey is approximately 30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. MASS RAPID TRANSIT (MRT) & TAXI This mode of transport is recommended only if you have a light luggage. Proceed to the basement level of Changi Airport Terminal 2. If you arrived at Terminal 1, 3 or the Budget Terminal you must either take the SkyTrain or free shuttle bus for inter-terminal transfer to Terminal 2. Purchase your ticket from the ticketing machine for City Hall MRT Station (EW13). A single trip standard ticket costs S$1.90. You may like to consider purchasing an Ezy Link card if you are planning on exploring Singapore using our integrated public transport system. The stored value card, with an initial cost of S$12, can be used for both public buses (SMRT & SBS) and trains (MRT & LRT). Click HERE to download a copy of the MRT Network Map. Board the MRT train from Changi Airport MRT Station (CG2) to Tanah Merah MRT Interchange (EW4) where you will cross the platform to transfer to the westbound train towards City Hall MRT Station (EW13) or Outram MRT Station (EW16). AIRPORT SHUTTLE Airport Shuttle bus service to selected downtown hotels can be arranged at a flat rate of SGD $9 per passenger. On arrival, proceed to the Ground Transport Desk located at the arrival halls of each terminal to purchase your ticket. Do inform the counter staff of your hotel name to check for route information. The Ground Transport Desk is a 24-hour counter catered to handle all passengers’ transportation requests and queries. Getting to the Conference Venue
The conference will be held at Block B of the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore (Bukit Timah Campus). The opening ceremony will be held at the Auditorium on Level 3. All panel sessions will be held in seminar rooms on Levels 3 and 4 of the same building. Coffee breaks and Lunches will be served at BTC Staff Lounge at Level 2. Conference Shuttle Bus Schedule The shuttle bus schedule for selected conference hotels will be sent to you in an information kit at least one week before the conference. For delegates staying in other hotels, you may get to the campus either by taxi or public transport. Getting to NUS (Bukit Timah Campus) by Taxi The most direct mode of transport to the NUS Campus is by taxi. Each taxi can accommodate up to 4 passengers unless you opt to take a bigger cab. The taxi fare to NUS from the recommended hotels will be approximately S$15. There are 3 NUS campuses located in different parts of Singapore. Inform the taxi driver that you wish to go to NUS (Bukit Timah Campus). Clarify further by stating that it is located near to the Botanical Gardens and that it was previously the N.I.E and S.M.U campus. On reaching the campus, direct the taxi to travel along the circumference of the campus until you pass by The Summit Cafeteria. You can alight the taxi at the sheltered Drop-off / Pick-up point along Block B. Getting to NUS (Bukit Timah Campus) by Public Transport The most economical mode of transport to the NUS Campus is by MRT & Bus.
