ASLI Fellowship Programme Due to immigration restrictions, the duration of the Fellowship, which used to last up to two months, has been shortened. With effect from 2023, the Fellowship will be for a period of thirty (30) days within a time frame to be provided by ASLI. For the following semesters in 2024-2025, the time frame is as follows. These periods fall within the NUS academic semesters. Semester I: 1 October 2024 to 8 November 2024Semester II: 3 March 2025 to 11 April 2025 Eligibility Only full-time faculty members of ASLI Member Institutions (including Founding Member Institutions) can apply for this Fellowship. ASLI Fellows should continue to hold a full-time appointment at their institution during the visit.Ph.D. students at an ASLI Member Institution are not eligible. Please note however that full-time faculty members at an ASLI Member Institution who are actually teaching full-time at their own faculty while in the finishing stages of their Ph.D. can be considered. While at NUS Law, the ASLI Fellows are expected to conduct research on legal issues of interest to their respective jurisdiction (if from Asia) or to Asia in general. Each ASLI Fellow is expected to present a seminar paper during his or her Fellowship. He or she will be expected to contribute to the ASLI Working Paper Series within a month after the end of the Fellowship. The ASLI Fellow is also encouraged to prepare a paper for presentation at the next ASLI Annual Conference following their Fellowship. Applicants should be aware that living expenses in Singapore are comparable to other major metropolitan cities. Fellows should budget to have approximately SGD 1,000 to SGD 2,000 for their living expenses while in Singapore and ensure they have sufficient financial support or access to their funds during the duration of their Fellowship. The stipend will only be disbursed after the full duration of the Fellowship. Fellows are also advised to arrange for their own insurance prior to arrival. Medical, hospitalisation, dental and travel insurance coverage are not included in the Fellowship. Applications will be submitted to the ASLI Directors for evaluation. Some of the candidates may be interviewed by phone. Interested parties should send in their applications, including their Dean’s/Head of Department's recommendation, before the closing date mentioned above.
