Dean's Message ![]() Dear Distinguished Scholars, It is my great pleasure to invite you to Singapore for the 24th Asian Law Institute (ASLI) Annual Conference, to be held from Wednesday, 26 May to Thursday, 27 May 2027. We are especially honoured to welcome you to NUS Law’s new campus at Kent Ridge. This occasion marks an exciting chapter for our Faculty, and we warmly invite you to experience this new home and to join us in person for what promises to be a most memorable gathering. Since its founding in 2003, ASLI has played an important role in fostering cooperation among leading Asian law schools and in advancing scholarship on the development of Asian law. Its Annual Conference remains the Institute’s flagship event, bringing together hundreds of scholars from across Asia and beyond to exchange ideas on the pressing legal questions confronting our region. The theme of the 2027 conference, “The Role of Law in an Era of Geopolitical and Technological Transformation”, is particularly apt in light of the profound challenges and opportunities confronting legal systems today. As geopolitical alignments shift and technological innovation continues to reshape institutions, markets, and societies, we look forward to rigorous and illuminating discussions on the capacity of law both to respond to these developments and to shape their trajectories. More than an academic symposium, the ASLI Annual Conference is also an invaluable occasion for renewing friendships, forging new connections, and exploring future collaborations. We very much hope that your time with us will be intellectually stimulating and personally rewarding. On behalf of my colleagues at NUS Law, I extend our warmest welcome and look forward to hosting you in Singapore in 2027.
