Course Description:
This course seeks to introduce students to the fundamental principles of Intellectual Property (IP) law. It has been designed to provide a foundation for those who intend to pursue advanced courses in IP or information technology law. Since the practical application of IP law intersects with many other areas of law (e.g. corporate-commercial law, commercial dispute resolution, and compliance), students seeking to complement their knowledge with a basic understanding of IP should also find this course helpful.

Preclusions: Not open to students who have taken or are taking a course on general intellectual property law [LL4405/LL5405/LC5405/LL6405]; [LL4405A/LL5405A/LC5405A/LL6405A]; [LL4405B/LL5405B/LC5405B/LL6405B]; [LL4070V/LC5070V/LL5070V/LL6070V/LLJ5070V] or their equivalents. Students who have done GCIP are also precluded.

Prerequisites: NUS Compulsory Core Law Curriculum or common law equivalent.
