Getting to & from the Airport Getting to and from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport is easy, convenient and relatively inexpensive. You have a choice of several modes of transportation from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to the Conference Hotels in KL. KLIA EXPRESS (ERL) The most convenient transportation from the Airport to the city is by the KLIA EXPRESS. Upon your arrival at KLIA, at the Arrival Hall, follow the signs for KLIA EXPRESS. Take the glass lifts on the far side which has KLIA EXPRESS stickers pasted on the doors. This is important as only this lift will take you to the correct side of the building on Level 1 where the ERL counters are. The train operates at 15-minutes intervals during peak hours and 20 minutes during off-peak. The first train from KLIA to KL Sentral is at 5.00am and the last train is at 1.00am. The journey takes only 28 minutes (non-stop journey). The normal fare for a single journey from KLIA to KL Sentral is RM35.00 and RM70.00 for a return trip. From KL Sentral you can choose to either take a taxi or the LRT to the hotels in KL. Taxi fare from KL Sentral to the Conference Hotels costs about RM15.00 to RM20.00. AIRPORT LIMO/TAXI The next convenient mode would be the AIRPORT TAXI because it takes you directly to your destination. Airport Limo offers taxi and limo services from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to selected areas in Kuala Lumpur. Coupons for taxis and limos can be obtained at the Airport Limo counter at the International Arrival Hall (just after Customs). Fares can range from RM65.00 and above, depending on the distance. Take note that there will be illegal taxi drivers at the entrance to the Arrival Hall. They will offer to drive you to Kuala Lumpur for a certain amount of fare. You can choose to board their taxis but, beware, you will have to pay fares that may be more expensive than the ones offered by the Airport taxi service. AIRPORT COACH For AIRPORT COACH, you may proceed to the KLIA bus station situated at Ground Floor Block C annex to Main Terminal Building which is just 3 minutes walking distance from Arrival Hall exit. Please get your ticket at AIRPORT COACH counter no. 3 at the Ground Floor of Block C. The bus will depart to KL Sentral from platform 1 KLIA bus station. The service from KLIA to KL Sentral starts at 6.30am and ends at 12.30am every day and operates at every 1 hour interval. The travelling time takes approximately one hour. The fare for one way is RM10.00 and RM18.00 for return trip. It can be arranged for the AIRPORT COACH to send you from KL Sentral to the Conference Hotels and for this service; you need to pay extra RM18.00. AIRPORT COACH known as "Baby Coach" offers direct drops and pick up from most hotels in the city. The 'pick-up' service is an 'on-call basis. If you wish to use this service, you need to call the AIRPORT COACH and book a pick up time. The fare is RM25.00. Getting to the Conference Venue
The conference will be held at the Cultural Activity Centre, of the University Islam Antarabangsa (also known as International Islamic University Malaysia, in English), Gombak. The opening ceremony will be held at the Main Hall of the Cultural Activity Centre. All panel sessions will be held in seminar rooms in the Building and the Faculty of Engineering. Lunches and coffee breaks will be served within the Main hall. ![]() Conference Shuttle Bus Schedule For delegates staying in other hotels, you may get to the campus either by taxi or public transport. Do inform the taxi driver that you wish to go to University Islam Antarabangsa (UIA), Gombak, IIUM’s more commonly known name in the Malay Language. Taxi fare from KL City is approximately RM20.00. Alternatively, you may like to take the Light Rail Transit (LTR) to Terminal Putra Station and hail a taxi from there. Entry and Parking Participants who use their private transport are advised to display the temporary car park pass on the left side of the windscreen in order for the security guard to identify them as ASLI Conference participants when they enter IIUM. Please refer to the IIUM campus map for exact locations of these car parks. Dress Code Please kindly respect the Islamic dress code in the university. Females and non-Muslim visitors are advised to wear loose clothing which are neither tight-fitting nor figure hugging. Pants, skirts or dresses should be long enough to cover the ankles. |
